Build Muscle Quickly But Remember That You Are Still A Caveman

Help! How can I build muscle quickly?
Building muscle as quickly as possible is a common wish nowadays. Pressure of work and family commitments can make it difficult to find the time to get your body in shape. Before you know it, your beach vacation is just round the corner or that friendly doubles match that you agreed to has crept up on you while you were busy elsewhere. In a society that expects everything to now be instantly available, why not muscle building as well?
The answer is that while intellectually and technologically the world has changed beyond recognition over the last few thousand years, your body has not. It is still the same model that your cave-living ancestors used to run, hunt, fight and flee according to the situation. The muscles they had were in constant use, because they were constantly under pressure just to survive. As such, their bodies did not develop any capacity for instant muscle development and increase, but instead continual muscle repair and restoration.
You can build muscle “quick” if you work within the limits of your body and the way it has functioned until now. Just bear in mind that if you need it literally tomorrow, then you will be disappointed. Much better is to set your sights on reasonable goals that you can achieve by using the correct muscle building activities and with the lifestyle that goes with it (eating the right food, giving your body time to rest). This way you can accelerate the process and avoid the pitfalls of wanting to go too quickly and in fact losing or missing out on muscle gain by being too impatient.
