Migraine Headache Relief - Ice is Nice

I am a migraine subject and I have prolonged migraines. I've had migraines since I was 17 years old. My mum had migraines, my grandmother had migraines, and I have 2 first cousins who have migraines. Migraine headaches are a genetic neurological disorder that has baffled doctors for years.

This medicine was basically used as a seizure medicine. In addition to the use as a episode medicine, in 2004, Topamax was approved in the U.S. As a medicine for migraine headaches. Topamax has also most recently has been approved for weight loss control.

Another favored approach is to cancel the headache when you get it. Folk who have fewer headaches, do not wish to take medicine daily if they don't have to. However, this medicine is too new to understand the long term effects on its users.

However, on some days fully nothing works. The abortives, the painkillers, the darkroom, lavender pillows, the meditation music, the bio feedback that you learned, have not touched the discomfort cutting thru your cortex. I have four headband soft pack ice packs with Velcro that wrap around my head. Ice is Nice!

When I was in the Michigan Institute for pain there was a lady with headaches so serious she never left the room. The one thing she ever found relief from was ice. It could be straightforward, but it works. Not a fix, just to break in the agony.
