Dating Advice - The Return To The Dating Scene

I know. The mere thought of the bar scenes, or even the thought of speaking with someone else, with the intent of finding a mate can be absolutely horrendous and a little intimidating.

People are crossing age barriers, dating either older or younger and it can be daunting for those of us that have been out of the ‘meat market’ for some time. While this expression may seem a tiny bit crude, upon further reflection you will realize that it is, in fact, a market, as I will explain.

Dating is not your traditional market. Each person enters it at different times and at different frequency, with different intents. Especially for the newly single in their 30s, 40s, 50s or older, it is important to stand your ground on key issues and ensure a match before pursuing any long term dreams and plans. ‘Baggage’ is a slang term denoting experience in a negative light. Our past experiences are what shape us and the baggage, we cannot be rid of. What we can do is grow and learn from these past relationships to live and love more profoundly and ultimately better.

Remember, any preconceived notions you may have about dating or others will be construed through your speech and your body language.

If and WHEN you re-enter the market: flaunt your wisdom, flaunt your assets and make sure to relax. Use your past experience as a basis for your conversations and your interaction with the other person. Each one of us is different but has something to offer.
