Your Hardgainer Workout - Dont Be Intimidated By Others In The Gym

When you first begin a weight training or muscle building program, it can be a little bit intimidating to walk into the gym for the first time. Actually, it can be quite intimidating! You may not be familiar with some of the different machines or workout techniques, and you may be embarrassed to have to ask for help before beginning your strength training exercises. Of course the most difficult part of it all is just showing up in front of those muscular guys and toned girls when you’re just a scrawny weakling.

Don’t let this discourage you! Your goal, at least at this stage, is not to compete with everyone else in the gym. Rather, you should strive to improve your own situation as much as possible. Your focus should not be on how your muscles or your weightlifting abilities compare with the guy next to you. Keep your mind laser focused on your goals and you’ll be fine.

What’s that - you don’t have any goals yet? Well, what are you waiting for? If you don’t have a target that you’ve set yourself, you’ll be wandering around without any clear direction. Remember that it’s not about where you begin but where you end up. With this in mind you can be confident going into the gym if you wish without worrying about not being able to lift as much weight as the next guy. You have to begin right where you are at in this moment. This is your only choice, but it’s not a problem. Just begin and make progress gradually. Above all, be consistent and you’ll make progress more quickly than you imagined.
