You may have heard that proper exercise can make you look and feel much younger than your years? If you knew it to be true would it be something that would interest you?
A recent study showed that people who perform proper strength building and maintaining exercise on average have DNA at least a decade younger than their actual age. Let us look at some of the ways this anti aging formula can happen.
Having toned muscles will fill out and pad your skin from the underneath so that wrinkles disappear and skin is held firm and taut. Your muscles are attached to your bones so when they are strong they hold the skeleton in its proper position keeping a youthful posture. Strong muscles also support the joints and cushion them from the impact of day to day activities.
The biggie with having strong muscles is that they keep the metabolism (your body's engine) in good working order. If your metabolism is allowed to decrease because of a lack of proper exercise you will gain weight increasing your risk of 'chronic lifestyle diseases' such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes along with at least 50 others.
Your proper exercise program of strength training exercise will improve and increase your energy levels. This increased energy will make you feel younger and you will find you sleep better so are more refreshed each day. Mentally you become more alert and will experience sharper thinking.
Exercise will also held with reducing stress levels which in the busyness of our daily lives can become overwhelming if a coping mechanism such as an exercise program is not firmly in place. All the organs and systems in our bodies are negatively affected by stress. When you are physically active and are strong and fit, your body will automatically release anti-stress chemicals to help neutralize stress producing chemicals.
Proper exercise also increases the levels of youthful hormones such as growth hormone (HGH). This hormone helps us look and feel younger. If levels aren't adequate you can become more wrinkled, experience energy decrease, saggy skin and an ever increasing waistline. By the age of 30, our body's natural supply of HGH is already decreasing but luckily, you can help your body produce more HGH with proper exercise to keep you youthful no matter your age.
As some people get older they look for ways to reclaim their youthfulness such as pills, injections, surgery, vitamin supplements, hormone replacements and the list goes on. But none of these can:
* transform your body like strength training exercise does
* give you unlimited energy like strength training exercise does
* make you stronger and more vibrant like strength training exercise does
* make you mentally strong like strength training exercise does
* prevent you from disease and sickness like strength training exercise does
* prevent you from having aches and pains like strength training exercise does
* give you long-lasting health like strength training exercise does
Do not expect these sort of anti aging benefits if you rely on cardio type activity instead of a proper muscle building and toning exercise program. Recreational activities like cycling or swimming, walking or jogging are great as part on an active lifestyle but can never replace the multitude of health benefits that strength training exercise can give.

You will keep your body in top shape and provide yourself with the energy and stamina you need to pursue all that life has to offer. You will not only prolong your life but will improve the quality of that life as well.
